MySpace just posted a teaser of the FRIDAY THE 13TH rehash that’s coming (you guessed it) Friday, February 13, 2009. And it ain’t half bad, although really it just looks like a slicker, more expensive sequel than a complete “reimagining” (oh, how I hate that word!). They’re even sticking with a similar music score (at least for this teaser), although really, how could they top that classic theme?

Truth be told, I’ve always been a sucker for those Jason movies, and I’ve tolerated the sequels more than the misadventures of Freddy, Leatherface, Michael Myers, Pinhead and the like. And I’ve completely skipped most of the current remake trend altogether, except for an occasional curiosity like ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 or WHEN A STRANGER CALLS.

Will I go to the theatre for this one? Maybe not, since my kid is due just before the release, but it will definitely go in my Netflix queue. How about you?

   I’m hoping to go see this when it comes out. I have always loved the Friday the 13th movies and own the entire series on DVD.
